常见问题

• When can I register for 的 next semester?

  You can find your registration date in Ursa 每学期: Click on “你的注册日期” under your Registration Section. You can register at 7 am on that date IF:

  • you have met with your 顾问,
  • you have your PIN (的 number your 顾问 gives you)
  • and have no Holds on your account: learn more about 持有和注册错误.

  Your registration date is based on how many credits you have earned. As you get closer to graduation, you can pick out classes earlier. 如果可以的话 be your first semester as a UNC Bear, you will register during 的 New Student Registration Sessions 或者找你的转学顾问.

  You can register for new courses through 的 Add Deadline without additional paperwork. The Add Deadline for Fall 2022 is August 26. Some classes have a "late start" or "special term," which means 的y begin after 学期的开始. If you are considering a special term course, look for 的 添加和删除最后期限 对于这门课.

• What LAC course offerings are available right now?

  You can now view a list of 的 current and upcoming LAC course offerings 每学期. 

  If you have questions about LAC course offerings or your plan to complete your LACs, 向你的 顾问. 

• How do I change my 主修或辅修?

  Your 顾问 helps you with this process. Talk to 的m about your options and why you want to change, and 的y can get you connected to 的 right people for your new 主修或辅修. 你也可以和 职业准备中心 about career paths and majors or minors associated with those jobs.

• What is 的 difference between dropping a class and withdrawing from a course?

  You may have two options if you decide a class is not 的 right fit: 放下和收回. Dropping a course means you are removed 从课堂上 without it showing up on your 成绩单或学费. Withdrawing means you are removed 从课堂上, and a “W” 会出现在你的成绩单上. Dropped and Withdrawn classes do not impact your GPA, 但可能会影响你的 金融援助. You will not receive tuition refunds from withdrawing.

  The general Drop deadline for Spring 2023 is Monday, January 23rd. If you miss this deadline, you need to talk with your 顾问 and may need to withdraw 从课堂上.

  The Withdraw deadline for Spring 2023 is Friday, April 28th. If you miss this deadline, you need to talk with your 顾问 and your professor about options for finishing 的 class.

  “Short Courses” or special term courses that begin or end in 的 middle of a semester 可能会有不同的截止日期.

  If you want to withdraw from ALL classes, you need to call or visit Bear Central.

• How do I keep track of 的 courses I have completed and those I still need?

  You should follow 的 plan your 顾问 gives you, reference 的 catalog for your degree and year，并使用 学位工作 to keep track of your degree progress. Your 顾问 can review your 学位工作 and 目录 requirements with you to plan out 的 next set of courses to consider.

  You can access 学位工作 through Ursa by clicking on “学位工作” under your 学生申请组. In 学位工作, you will see:

  • Green Checks for completed courses
  • Blue Half-Circles for classes in progress or that you are registered for
  • Red Circles for requirements you still need
